one.... initially people used to hesitate to speak in kannada.... but i feel that the situation is pretty different.... kannada is also spoken on mg road.... and other such places..,.
two.... the cosmopolitan life that has invaded b'lore....
one incident taht i'd like to narrate....... my sis and me were wlking down brigade raod... we stopped at niligiris' to buy ice-cream.... ob... we asked for it in kannada.....was the vendor glad.... one could see his face glowing..... :)
Yep. I have had some pleasant experiences in places like MG Road and Brigades myself. But somehow, being the critical person that I am, I tend to feel that the lack of Kannada in Bangalore is way more than its presence.
One of the reasons that motivated me to doodle this baby up was that very feel. Since then I have made it a point to speak in Kannada (and ONLY kannada if I can do that!) when in Karnataka.
